Tips for Getting Started


Work Hard, Work Smart
Jazzercise promotes a friendly, non-competitive atmosphere. We encourage you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you. Generally as the class progresses, if you are breathing somewhat heavy, and can manage to say a few words without gasping, you're probably working right in your training zone. However, if you're out-of-breath, and are having trouble saying even a few words, you probably need to slow down a bit.


What You'll Need
Wear good rubber-soled aerobic shoes, and dress in comfortable clothes. Most people wear stretchy capris, long stretchy pants, or bike shorts, and a short sleeve T-shirt, tank shirt, or stretchy work-out top. Our facility is air conditioned in the summer, but it still gets warm. Water bottles are encouraged.


We encourage the use of weights during the strengthening portion of class, however, they are optional. We do have weights and mats available at our facility, but sometimes we run out, so many students choose to bring their own.

New Kid on the Block?
If you haven't participated in an exercise program before, don't worry about keeping up with the class for your first few classes. If things start moving too quickly, or the steps seem confusing, just march in place to keep moving. It takes a little time to build some endurance, but if you stick with it - it will happen!
